Dr. Horrible: Taking Advantage of All Things

Started by Kim Werker · 3 months ago

ETA: Looks to me that Joss Whedon told Wired he’s looking for some crochet coverage. Call me, Joss. I can hook you up. Um. Pun not intended.
UPDATE: I sent a fax to Joss’s agency. Think there’s a way to drum up buzz so they take the request seriously? ... Continue reading »

  • I'm just glad I got to SEE it on the web--I've only been able to access the site (I believe it was down starting yesterday) in the past couple of hours (well, I'm sure if I'd tried late at night or early in the morning I would have been ok). So, I've seen it, and can I just say--Nathan Fillion makes me swoon (almost audibly!) and I just love NPH to bits (no swooning, but maybe it's that I know he's gay?). Yay!
  • Maybe you could approach it from an angle relating to how much he's inspired crafters? There's Whedoncraft everywhere, these days.
  • All I can say is I love Joss...Buffy and Angel. I have recently started the Firefly series and love it. I am going to have to check out Dr. Horrible!
  • Thanks for turning me on to Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Finally something me and my hubby can agree on. We both think it is wonderful. Of course he can't agree on the best song. I hope we get more acts. I so want an I-touch. I hope to be reading your blog on my I-touch by Christmas. Keep up the good work.

  • Well said.

Another similar experiment that I just discovered is The Guild, which although done on a much more outsider track, I would bet that Season 2 will be a tad more insider what with Felicia Day probably getting recognized for being more than a maybe-slayer.

As a whole, I love the idea behind something where one's support actually means something as opposed to being dwarfed by a $155 million take at the box office (although, I do wish that "Serenity" had been able to do that, and I did love "The Dark Knight"). Where the change from lunch could actually help create something you love and want to be a part of.

But maybe I have soft spots for the Whedons (aside from Charlie Kaufman, who else would create characters with names like Dead Bowie and Fake Thomas Jefferson?), Mr. Fillion, Mr. Harris, and newly Ms. Day.
