I can't tell you how interesting and informative I find this series of posts, Kim. I'm currently the layout guru and junior copyeditor for my marketing team, and while I love what I do and where I work for now, what I'd really love to be doing a few years down the road is doing that same type of work on a magazine (and if it's a fiber-related magazine, so much the better!) Your insight into the inner workings of such a publication are invaluable, and make me that much more motivated to find such a job when the time comes. Thank you! :)

What also stood out to me from your first post was how your motivation to be The Editor was present all along. Some of us are designers, some are copy editors, tech editors, graphics people, and focus happily on one part of it, but you as The Editor have the overall view -- and the mindset.
